about

Baltimore alternative rock-and-reggae jam band from the early 1980s reunite in 2016 to finally record seven of their classic songs along with six brand new ones.

Through the first half of the 1980s, The Charm City Reactors were
a staple of the just-blossoming alternative music scene in Baltimore. A regular act at the storied Marble Bar, their music contrasted from the typical punk-rock found there, instead pursuing a melodic, reggae-rock-infused sound. A jam band before the term existed, their improvisational approach to their own material as well to an eclectic choice of cover tunes garnered them a devoted following, and positive reviews in the local press. But they never spent any appreciable time properly recording themselves. That has now been rectified with this brand new release. The original band members have reunited and have stunningly captured their sound, including seven of their classic songs from back in the day, plus six new aural treats.
